The devices of the PCB 682C_3 series are primarily used to connect industrial piezoelectric acceleration sensors with common ICP design (equipped with built-in charge amplifier) to process control, PLC, DCS, and SCADA systems. By using these units, existing systems can provide continuous vibration-based machine monitoring.

The devices are available in single-channel design to accommodate piezoelectric vibration acceleration sensors with arbitrary sensitivity and ICP design (equipped with built-in charge amplifier). The devices provide power supply for the sensors.

The devices of the PCB 682C_3 series generate a 4...20 mA current signal and a 0...5/10 V DC voltage signal - selectable by type - with fixed lower and upper frequency limits, in peak or effective value. It is also possible to choose whether the output signal should be proportional to vibration acceleration, vibration velocity (with single integration), or displacement (with double integration).
